evolving the lance.

when i started at mindblossom last summer, i got put on my first project with mitsubishi. i worked hard on animating quite a few things on flash, but all that work didn't go anywhere as the site never really saw much light. and a lot of the animations i did got axed in the final build. the project was called mitsubishi dna. needless to say, i was rather disappointed with the many changes. as the mitsubishi tv commercials got pulled down, the website campaign had to undergo some drastic changes. all-in-all, nothing to brag home about.

i got put on to another mitsubishi project a month later, and i was honored with having to animate the new 2008 mitsubishi lancer evolution!! it was a long process: from receiving photographs, to editing the lighting, to breaking down the image into flash assets, to animating the scenes. it was tedious hard and long, but it was fun to work on at the same time. we had a good team on this project, and i'm just happy to have been part of the whole experience and to see that the site turned out great and is now live! lancerevolution10.com.

lastly, i also did something quick and easy (or at least it was supposed to be...) for citibank.ca. it's nothing too special, but it was my first project to implement sounds into the animation, so i was pretty excited. what can i say, i'm easily amused... check it out.

that's all for now...

2008. all about positive changes.

happy new year. it's been too long since i've posted anything at all... finally, i've caved to chris chung's pleas to update my blog. since graduation, a lot has happened. got a job at mindblossom, moved downtown, and just recently, bought a couch (which made me poor).

i've been doing a lot of work at mindblossom, but nothing that was too worthy of showing. since i started, i've been on and off of flash animations for different mitsubishi websites. one of the projects didn't really pull through, but the other which is still currently being worked on, i am pretty satisfied with so far. once the new mitsubishi evolution goes live, i'll post the link on here.

at home, i've been busy organizing my life together, but i was bored one night and decided to spend some time in front of the computer. i ended up doing a piece of salmon sashimi as an exercise to keep my skills up. nothing crazy. just food illustration. and since erin couldn't eat sushi for so long due to sickness, i decided to do this to try and entice her into eating sushi again. here's to sushi, baby!

scratch start.

so after a few months on hiatus, i decided to start my blog from scratch. as of yet, there hasn't been much new work. this past month, i've been busy finishing up homework, making work for the HEADlines show, designing business cards and my website. i know, i know. excuses. but now that school's done, the show's over, and my business cards are done, i can get a fresh start with no more excuses. i finally have something up for my website, after a year's worth of coming soon's. there's a lot i plan to do with that site - like using flash and adding other aesthetics - but just for the sake of having something up for now, it's done. albeit, it is kinda bright... and white.

anyway, now that school's done, expect much more from me. on that note, heckle me if i start slacking again.
